Scientists solve one of the biggest problem with Perovskite self-powered broadband photodetector

Indian scientists have developed an organic-inorganic halide perovskite photodetector with lead substitution by magnesium. The researchers from ARCI, an autonomous institute of DST, addressed the challenges of toxic lead by using an eco-friendly alternative. They synthesized the MAPbxMg1-xCl2I perovskite with desired properties and simplified the photodetector architecture. The study showcases the potential of magnesium substitution and offers a promising alternative for optoelectronic devices. This development contributes to a greener future in optoelectronics and sustainable technologies.
