The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) is working on over 30 rules based on the newly enacted Telecommunications Act, which will be implemented in the coming months. These rules, as reported by Economic Times (ET), will cover spectrum allotment, interception of calls, collection of biometric data, and more. They will define spectrum pricing, lawful interception mechanisms, conditions for spectrum trading, sharing, and surrender. The rules will also address the biometric identification of users and satellite spectrum usage.
